The ILLC
is currently involved in developing two tree farm projects for 2008.
The first is in Mozambique where we are working to create a sustainable
hardwood tree farm, permaculture agricultural project, reforestation
program and an education and research center. This pilot project
is designed to create a format for the empowerment and economic
enhancement of developing nations using their resources sustainably
in strategically planned ways. The second tree farm is being created
as an insurance policy for those involved in the Mozambique project
as Africa is still a high risk venture.
Other project areas the trust is
involved include educating the public to food security issues, environmental
degradation, and peak oil. Although these issues are not yet in
the forefront of many people's minds, they soon will be.
